Is known as the golden standard of research
What we notice when you do an experiment you need to have 2 groups
the experimental group who experience the condition
the control group who not experience the condition
  • What is the survey research approach (deductive approach)?

Consists of using structured observations, structured interviews, and questionnaires. Allows for the collection of standardized data from a large population. Questionnaire could be used at other approaches as well surveys not
After this you can generalise (Is limited in freedom)
  • What is the archival data research approach (deductive)?

REsearch strategy that analyses adminstrative records and documents as the principal sources of data.
    Based on historical data.
Looking at pat data and predicting the next data.
    Read example paper on slide.
  • What is the case study research approach (inductive or deductive)?

Consists of studying a contemporary phenomenon in its real-life context, using multiple sources of evidence. Because you might not have a theory and collect data. Or you might have a theory and collect data. Or you might have a theory than you collect dat. Looks at a very specific phenomenon it does not has generalisation logic you can not generalise after a case study while with a survey you can generalise after a survey.
