Every state can vote for one person in the Senate. The system first past the post is used which means that the person with the most votes wins.

the democrats and the republicans both choose the best canidads. Those canidads are going to have a big campain trough the US. On the election day the people are going to the polls to vote for one canidad. Than the electors (every state has as much electors as they have representives and people in the sanate) chose directly the president. the canidad who had to most elector votes wins and become the president

The day an American President is inaugurated. There is usually a parade and the new President makes a speech about what he plans for the US. This is always on January 20. at exacly noon, the President takes the oath of office.
