    A-H was split into separate states -> lived large German minorities, Germany lost territory and inhabitants

    • Introduced conscription/hired unemployed men as soldiers

    • To annex Austria and eventually Czechoslovakia
  • What was the Conference of Munich and why?

    • A peace talk commenced by The British Prime Minister Chamberlain -> Hitler was allowed to annex Sudetenland in return for his promise -> last territorial demand in Europe. 
    • Why? Because the countries threatened that this invasion would have repercussions and to ensure a long lasting peace between Germany and Britian
  • What is the policy of appeasement?

    • If they gave in some of Hitler's demands, further conflict could be avoided in the future.

  • What does it mean to be appeased, nor be trusted?

    Give in to some of Hitler's demands to avoid any conflicts but at the same time can't be trusted with those demands -> Czechoslovakia
  • When did WW2 begin?

    After signing the Nazi-Soviet Pact -> Hitler invaded Poland -> England and France declared war on Germany
  • What is the Battle of Britain and why did England took a stand?

    An air war between the RAF and the German air force.
  • Germany conquered lots of territory of the SU but he was too optimistic why?

    Hitler was too optimistic because:
    • The SU took away/destroyed everything the Germans could use.
    •  The rainy season started/ cold war.
    • SU was better armed than the Germans expected -> no two-front war and Siberians as soldiers
  • How did the second attack of Germany on Su go?

    The Southeast -> raw materials, despite sending in more troops and materials -> still not able to defeat the SU and still a harsh winter. Hitler lost an entire army and Stalin reconquered -> west of SU and moved on to East.
