  1. to find a new trade route to the east

  3.to explore and conquer new lands

  4. improvements in ships and navigstion made it possible to go further.

  were brougth to the mediterranean by the muslim traders and sold to italian traders.

• why were spices so important at the time? where did  most of them come from?

  spices were used to preserve and flavour food and to make medicines. 

  the came from the spice islands, nowadays called the moluccas.

• what happened in 1453 to damaged the spice trade?

  in 1453 the Turks captured Constantinople, a crossroud of trade routes. specially the Great silk route to China came in control of the Turks. this pushed up the prices of silk and spices.

• give 4 reasons why europeans began to explore the world in the 15th  century.
