Anatomy heart

7 important questions on Anatomy heart

How is the primitive heart formed (looping and rotating)?

Looping means that the atria migrate cranial.
Rotation means that the right atrium and ventricle rotate ventrally.

How are the atria separated?

First the septum primum is developed between the two atria. This is not completely closed on the bottom (called the foramen primum). This opening moves from the bottom to the top --> foramen secundum. Then there is another septa that forms left of the septum primum: the septum secundum. Also this septum doesn't close completely: foramen ovale.
