What is face validity?
Refers to the extent to which a measure appears to measure what it's supposed to measure. The judgement of a researcher or participant.
What is a hypothetical construct?
Entities that cannot be directly observed but are inferred on the basis of empirical evidence, e.g. Self-efficacy
What is concurrent validity?
The two measures are administered at roughly the same time. The question is wether the measure being validated distinguishes successfully between people who score low versus high on the behavioral criterion at the present time.
