What is a computer network
A collection of devices that are connected together to allow for the sharing of resources and information. -
What is a node?
A Node is the term given to a device connected to a network e.g. computer, mobile phone etc. -
What is a stand-alone network?
A network that isn't connected to any other device in a network -
Name an advantage of a stand-alone network
- If something goes wrong, only the standalone will be affected
- It is easy to manage
- it does not affect other computer users. -
Name a disadvantage of a stand-alone network
- You are restricted to a single computer, so you cannot access your files on another computer
