What does the cognitive dissonance theory describe?
the mental conflict that occurs when a person's behaviors and beliefs do not align. Cognitive dissonance causes feelings of unease and tension, and people attempt to relieve this discomfort in different ways. -

What are content theories of motivation?
These theories identify internal factors, such as needs and satisfaction, that energize employee motivation. It is based on the idea that employee's needs influence his or her motivation. -
What are process theories of motivation?
These theories explain the process by which internal factors and situational factors influence employee motivation. -
Explain McGregor's Theory X and Theory Y
Theory X explains a pessimistic view towards employees. Employees can only be motivated through rewards and punishment. Theory Y shows a positive view towards employees. Managers who adopted Theory Y, reached higher performance and higher levels of satisfaction.
