  • How does sound  work (steps)

    1. The outer ear collects sound energy and directs it through the ear canal to the eardrum.
    2. The incoming waves of the sound energy cause the eardrum to vibrate
    3.The bones in the middle ear amplify the sound vibrations and send them to the cochlea
    4.The sound vibrations activate tiny hair cells in the inner ear, which in tune release neurochemical messenger
    5. The auditory nerve carries this electrical signal to the brain
