  • What are the Labia majora (grote schaamlippen)

    These are two large folds forming the boundary of the vulva (external genitalia)

    Are about 10 cm long and carries the eggs from the ovary to the uterus. Fertilization happens in the fallopian tubes. The end of each tube has finger like projections called fimbria, which "catch"the egg.

    Myometrium (smooth muscle) and endometrium (epithelium)
  • What is Myometrium (smooth muscle)?

    This is the thickest layer of tissue in the uterine wall. It contains smooth muscle fibres, blood vessels and nerves.
  • What is endometrium (epithelium)?

    This consists of epithelium containing a large number of mucus secreting tubular glands. It is divided into two layers.
