  • Asthma, diagnostic methods

    Measurement of serum IgE levels.
    sputum eosinophilia (# high in asthma patients) is a possible method.
    Lung function tests:
    • spirometry
    • Peak expiratory flow rate on waking (without bronchodilator) and before bed after bronchodilator (demonstrating airflow limitation)
