How did the situationist privilege originality, and reject repetition

The siutationist priviliged originality by letting each participant individualise the artwork - see the situationist slogan painted by the students on the streets of paris in 1968 
The didn't entirely reject. They borrowed artisitc media but let the audience play with it.
- the idea of detournement- changing another work by drawing on it -  came from the Lettriste and Duchamp.
- the situation from Dada performance art but the audience takes part.
 
The derive - the walk about - was entirely new and entirely up to the audience who chose where they walked.

In theory by doing away with it. For many situationist works the audience was the artist. Other work was done by the cooperative of artists. However the image of Guy de Bord, the leader, has become an exmaple of artists as work of art

How did the situationist want to change the world socially and politically.

Politically they were anti-stalinist communists and they wanted a revolution. The politics led to lots of splits though - de Bord rejected everybodyif their art didn't match his politics. 
Socially they wanted to recreate the urban landscape through unitary urbanism. This was anew way of constructing cities which covered everything from food to buildings.This never happened though the work of Constatnin niewenhus (see pic) shows how it might have looked

By taking the art to the streets. Then by taking the streets. The student revols in Paris in 1968 brought down the government, Though the political change was temporary, the social change of the 60s was not
Thye situationist were the most politically successful avantgardes ever - though arguable not the mmost successful artisitc one. The didn't make much aart.
